EQ is a member of several communities and, like the ripples caused by raindrops on the surface of a pond, these communities interact with each
other. Such interactions can seem chaotic at times but in practice they reflect synergies and purpose. However, whereas the ripples on a pond are shaped by the laws of physics, our interactions are shaped by our
core values and our strong intent to make a positive difference. So much for clever words, show us the action and commitment!

We are committed to make a positive difference to three specific communities that EQ care deeply about.

Our Local Community: the place we operate from and call home. We are committed to support financially the Rainbows Hospice for children and young people and the Coalville Food Bank to the tune of 1% of our operating profit before tax. We will also provide financial advice to both organisations as necessary at no cost.

The Alzheimer’s Community. We know first hand the challenges faced by those suffering from Alzheimer’s personally, and those friends and loved ones who face the daily challenges of caring and supporting those with Alzheimer’s and Dementia. Our family has been touched with the difficulties of Dementia, as have several our client’s families. There are numerous wonderful charities that deserve our support, but we have elected to become long term supporters of The Alzheimer’s Society – www.alzheimers.org.uk. Our commitment is to make quarterly financial donations to The Alzheimer’s Society.

The Community of Planet Earth. If you look up the definition of the word Community one of the first phases you will read is Community: a group that share a common place to live. Humans share one, unique place to live – Planet Earth. The consensus is that collectively we are not doing anywhere enough to support our planet. It can be argued that one person cannot make a difference, but we believe we can; one tiny step at a time.

Just as great lakes and oceans are formed from individual rain drops, we can, through taking small but positive actions, make a material difference. Our commitments to the Community of Planet Earth are:

We will travel in vehicles powered by non-fossil fuels, or by public transport, to our clients and associates when we must meet face to face.

We will use electronic and digital communication whenever possible and strive to minimise the use of paper while running our business.

We will stop using single use plastic and strive to reduce all use of plastics in our business operations.

We will power our business through using renewable energy sources.
